29 November 2007 a seminar “Thinking of
expanding your business in Russia?”
took place at EBRD headquarters in London.
The seminar was organized in order to introduce the specifics of investing on Russian
market, what kind of problems the companies are facing, and what are the
opportunities, offered by Russian market. The project “Tehnopark Vyazniki”,
offering full support in construction of production facilities in Russia, was
presented as an answer to the above stated question.
Mr. Veretennikov, vice
governor of the Vladimir
region administration presented his region - the potential it is offering in
the field of economics. To the west it borders directly on the Moscow region and thus offers a great
potential for doing business in bigger cities, as well as in regions. It is one
of the most economically developed and dynamically evolving regions of central Russia. The
leading industries of this region’s economy are food, home appliance,
metalworking, electricity generation and porcelain. The region is both, economically
and politically stable, offering great industrial potential, as well as highly qualified
workforce. As a matter of fact, this region ranks third among regions in the central
district of Russia attracting foreign capital. That is why some well-known
foreign brands, such as Kraft, Wienerberger, Saint Gobain, Trimo etc., have
established production facilities here. The logistical infrastructure of the
region is well developed, too. The main federal highway (M7 “Volga”) and
railway are running throughout the region, leading east and connecting Moscow with bigger cities Nizhny Novogorod, Kazan and Ufa.
These are some of the advantages that make the Vladimir
region a competitive alternative to the Moscow
region.
Mr. Kočan, general
manager of “Tehnopark Vyazniki” presented the project, called “Tehnopark
Vyazniki”. Tehnopark Vyazniki is an industrial park, rising in the outskirts of
Vyazniki, the town in Vladimir region,
presenting a joint initiative between the administration of Vladimir region and the company Trimo. The
plot is located along the federal highway and railway, offering 136 hectares of land for
industrial purpose. The investors will not gain only the plot, but also all the
matters with reference to projecting, construction registration documents,
liaison and communication, will be arranged for them and according to their
individual needs and wishes. All these issues shall be the responsibility of “Tehnopark
Vyazniki” - an enterprise that is in full ownership of Trimo. The industrial
park presents an opportunity of “turnkey projects” with support granted by administration
authorities. The Tehnopark has all the latest communications and modern
infrastructure, such as gas, water, sewage system, electricity and telecommunication
links.
Investors in the park
will gain optional geographical location, professionally managed facility,
construction of buildings on a turnkey basis, which includes designing,
arranging permits and construction. As an added incentive, for the first five
years of operation, investors shall be disposed from property tax (2,2%) and shall
receive 4 to 7% reduction of tax on profit, which in Russia amounts to 24 %. The
industrial park Vyazniki is therefore a unique opportunity for potential investors
to establish or expand their production or warehouse facilities in Russian Federation,
according to their wishes and needs.
Established in 1961
“Trimo d.d.”, is one of Europe’s leading
manufacturers and suppliers of construction materials and a producer of
prefabricated steel buildings. The company has business operations in over 50
counties, working alongside established brands such as Ikea, Renault and Nestle,
Sainsbury, Tesco. Trimo has many years of experience working with the Vladimir region’s administration and also having built its
own manufacturing plant in the region, which has been up and running for over 6
years, supplying Russia
and the wider area.
With a perfect
location, good transport infrastructure, closeness to the larger cities (Moscow,
Nizhny Novogorod, Kazan, Ufa…) and being easy of access, as well as taking care
of all the planning questions and project management, gaining approvals and
building organization, Tehnopark Vyazniki presents a “turnkey project”
opportunity for your future factory requirements in Russia. Together with the
infrastructure and European business environment, as well as the privileged
taxation, this project turns out to be a unique business opportunity for you.
On the presentation
the principal of Savant, a leading consultant company in Russia presented their point of view on a Greenfield investment in Russia. According to his words the
construction of such investment in Russia is time consuming and straining
process which takes from search for suitable land plot, due diligence, design
stage to construction itself all together from 2,5 to 3 years.
