Presentation of Krasnodar region in Finland

Krasnodar Region Administration pays special attention to the development of international and foreign economic cooperation of the region with European countries. One of the most promising lines of interrelationship is the cooperation with Fnland, especially within the framework of investment projects in free economic zones of the region and in preparation for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.  

At the world economic forum in Davos Krasnodar Region was named the most attractive region in Russia to investors.

The rate of growth in investment of fixed capital through the Region for 2007 was 126% compared to the 2006 level (for Russia this indicator was 121%), and the amount invested totaled $9 billion.  13% of this amount, $715 million, came from foreign investors.  Over the last six years approximately $2.8 billion of foreign investment has been made in the Region.  Krasnodar Region consistently holds first place in the Southern Federal District for volume of investment.

The Region is ready today to present 1600 projects worth €12 billion to potential partners.

Olympic Sochi is a separate and especially interesting subject for investors.  A Federal Special Programme of unprecedented scale has been adopted for developing Sochi as a mountain resort with private and public investment totaling 318 billion rubles (more than €8.5 billion).  In the Sochi area modern tourist and sports complexes and new fashionable hotels are being built.  Construction of the ski station and gondola lift at the Roza Khutor ski resort (snowboarding and alpine skiing) is already in progress.  The Karusel hotel complex, which will be the main press hotel in the mountain cluster, is under construction.  In January this year the first stage of the Gazprom mountain tourism centre was opened (biathlon, cross country skiing, Nordic Combined).  Investors have the opportunity to take part in building modern tourist and sports complexes and new fashionable hotels.

With the object of further development of trade and economic cooperation between Krasnodar Region and Finland, Krasnodar Region Administration under the auspices of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Russia, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russian Federation and the Trade Representation of Russian Federation in Finland plans to hold Presentation of Krasnodar Region in Helsinki on 21 May 2008.

The Presentation will show high investment potential and prospects for the future in the following fields: industry, fuel and energy complex, construction and architecture, housing and utilities infrastructure.  The program envisages conference and B2B meetings. 

 The Presentation of Krasnodar Region will be held on 21 May 2008 at 10:00 in the building of Scandic Continental Hotel (Mannerheimintie 46, 00260 Helsinki).
